Energia meccanica

Il principio di conservazione dell’energia meccanica afferma:

In assenza di forze dissipative, l’energia meccanica totale di un sistema fisico (energia cinetica + energia potenziale) si conserva, cioè rimane sempre costante.

In figura Se noi lasciamo cadere una palla da una certa altezza, essa nel punto iniziale essendo sottoposta solo alla forza-peso, avrà solamente energia potenziale gravitazionale. Scendendo acquista velocità e perde quota perciò diminuisce l’energia potenziale e aumenta l’energia cinetica. Quando arriva ad h = 0 l’energia potenziale scompare e c’è esclusivamente energia cinetica.

Da questo abbiamo visto che la somma delle due energie (cinetica e potenziale) rimane sempre uguale: quando una diminuisce, l’altra aumenta, in modo tale che la loro somma rimane costante.

Ci sono formule?
Non ci sono vere e proprie formule per questo principio, ma un’equazione la quale afferma che l’energia meccanica iniziale è uguale all’energia meccanica finale.
